Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, J-centrel blends historic architecture and cultural cues to weave forward-thinking work, living, and community spaces into the neighborhood’s fabric.

J-centrel is one of Philadelphia’s and Kensington Avenue’s storied factories, dating back to the late 1800s. It once stood as a leading mill during Kensington’s textile boon.

After decades as a textile mill, lighting producer, and, more recently, a furniture manufacturer, the building will be transformed into modern, affordable residences and commercial spaces and studios. J-centrel’s re-envisioned residences, studios, and community spaces will evoke a sense of history, culture and style.
